The Artistic Oasis Second Edition – Baghdad, Iraq (November 18-19, 2024)

Our flagship event of the year, the Second Edition of The Artistic Oasis, will take place at Sindbad Land, Baghdad on November 18-19, 2024. This unique festival brings together 30 artists from across the globe—15 international artists and 15 local Iraqi artists—to create a one-of-a-kind cultural experience.

Highlights of the event include:

• 🖌️ Graffiti Maze: A 12-meter by 12-meter labyrinth made of concrete, with walls standing 2.4 meters tall. Each artist will transform their section into a stunning canvas, creating an immersive experience for visitors. We’re aiming to break two Guinness World Records for the largest graffiti maze and the most participating artists.
• 🛍️ Art Bazaar: A vibrant marketplace featuring local brands, artists, and artisans. It’s the perfect place to discover unique works of art, handmade goods, and connect with the local creative community.
• 🌐 Language and Cultural Exchange: Interactive sessions that allow visitors and artists to connect through language and share their cultural backgrounds.
• 💡 Workshops: Graffiti and calligraphy workshops led by experienced artists, allowing participants to express their creativity and learn new skills.
• 🛹 Skateboarding Sessions: Hosted by the Baghdad Skatepark community, these sessions bring exciting energy and action to the festival, merging art and movement.

Collaborative Mural Project – Ghent, Belgium (August 2024)

We completed the mural for this project in August 2024, and it will be officially unveiled during the Refugee Walk event in September 2024. Collaborating with Refugee Walk, NBQ Spray Paint, VOEM, and Beyond the Lines Calligraffiti, this project aimed to raise awareness for refugees and asylum seekers through a stunning mural in Ghent, Belgium.

Key Highlights:

• Collaborative Artwork: Featuring Palestinian artist Ismail and Brussels-based artist Dema, the mural beautifully conveys themes of hope, resilience, and unity.
• Community Engagement: The project brought together locals, refugees, and international artists, creating a shared dialogue around social justice and the refugee crisis.

Graffiti and Art Therapy Workshops – Baghdad, Iraq (April 2024)

In June 2023, we hosted a series of Graffiti and Art Therapy Workshops in Baghdad aimed at promoting artistic expression and emotional well-being. These workshops were free to the public and attracted participants of all ages, offering them a safe space to create, heal, and explore their artistic potential.

Key Highlights:

• Graffiti Sessions: Local graffiti artists led hands-on sessions, teaching techniques and fostering creative self-expression.
• Art Therapy: Partnering with Tuhfa Art Therapy, the workshop also included therapeutic art sessions designed to help participants process emotions and reduce stress.

The success of these workshops underscored the importance of art as a tool for healing and community building.

Calligraffiti Workshop – Baghdad, Iraq (March 2024)

In March 2024, The Artistic Oasis hosted a Calligraffiti Workshop in Baghdad, Iraq, bringing together artists to blend traditional Arabic calligraphy with modern graffiti techniques. The event aimed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of calligraphy while merging it with contemporary urban art styles.

• Cultural Fusion: Artists explored the intersections of calligraphy and graffiti, resulting in unique and dynamic works of art.

The Artistic Oasis Inaugural Event – Baghdad, Iraq (November 2023)

Our first-ever event in Baghdad was a milestone for The Artistic Oasis. Held in November 2023, this groundbreaking festival brought together 17 international artists and 8 local Iraqi artists, creating a truly collaborative environment. Together, they transformed the streets of Baghdad into a vibrant canvas of expression.

Key Highlights:

• Graffiti Installations: Large-scale street art took over several public spaces, showcasing a mix of local and international styles.
• Community Engagement: The event partnered with local groups such as Baghdad Skatepark, Tuhfa Art Therapy, and Artsay Fashion Brand, making it a celebration of art, fashion, and wellness.
• Global Recognition: Our inaugural event was covered by 7 newspapers in different countries, gaining international recognition and helping to solidify our place in the global art community.

This success laid the foundation for The Artistic Oasis to expand its reach, proving the power of creativity to unite people from all backgrounds.
